Research Interest: The molecular basis for membrane fusion has been extensively studied recentely. Either protein complexes or lipids are involved in the process. In mammals, binding to glycoprotein ZP3 in egg matrix, zona pellucida, induce the sperm acrosomal exocytosis with the feature that outer acrosomal membrane fuses with plasma membrane at mutiple fusion points. I am interested in the molecules which are essential to the membrane fusion in acrosomal exocytosis. Using biochemical characterization and microscopy, I am trying to identify and explore the functions of these molecules.
