Research interests: I am going to be doing my project on songbird nest predation in streamside vegetation along the creeks that feed Mono Lake. I have already been putting out 24-hour video cameras at songbird nests and have acquired footage of a number of predators eating both eggs and chicks. I am hoping to get enough footage to determine which predator species are most important within the next year or two. Then I plan on studying the ecology of those predators in order to better understand why vegetation affects nest success in the way it does.
